Welcome to Earth

I just watched Independence Day (I'm not going to link that to imdb because if you're reading this and you don't know what I'm talking about, then I'm not sure why we're friends).

I am terrified of aliens. I know they're out there. I have no proof - but it's a very strong gut feeling.

A better web journal-er than me would back this up with some sort of web-based proof. It would probably involve many links.

But I'm lazy.

UFOs!

Check this out, the NPR interview and Chicago Trib story especially are neat. The slashdotter comments are, as usual, nearly uniformly worthless. I still read 'em though...

Dear Kara,

I love your blog! I live in Washington DC and never use coupons. One of my goals for 2007 is to start using them. I was wondering if you had any recommendations regarding coupons. I would appreciate an entire post dedicated to coupons.

Thanks,
Ken

PS: they are building a Harris Teeter 2 blocks from my house on the Hill.

I watched Mars Attacks this weekend. Talk about an all-star cast. And not scary.

Ken and Tim - Is the PFAW lunch activity to read my web journal? So flattering.

Ken - Oh, you know I'm all about giving recommendations. Coupons will totally be getting their own post. A HT only two blocks away?!?! That's like heaven.

Tim - I've never seen Mars Attacks. I feel like that movie may have had Tim Allen in it?

Mikey - That Chicago UFO story freaks me out. I'm telling you - they're among us....

Galaxy Quest is the Tim Allen space movie. Also EXCELLENT. Seriously underappreciated. Sigourney Weaver is great.

Mars Attacks features Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jack Nicholson, Annette Benning, Glenn Close, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Natalie Portman, Martin Short, AND Tom Jones as Tom Jones.

Set TiVo, add to Netflix. Definitely do it!

Great blog Kara...we're all living life to the fullest via your blog. Check out Contact (jodie foster) for teh best "aliens are out there" movie!

Tim - Mars Attacks certainly does have an all-star cast. I'll alert the TiVo accordingly.

Steve - STEVE! Hi! I'm really glad that my web journal can help you guys live your lives to the fullest. That's why I set it up. Just wait for my post on labelmakers.

I haven't seen Contact either, but someone recommended it to me. Maybe I should just stay home some weekend and watch alien (not Alien) movies.

sorry i'm so late on this comment, but my voice must be heard. for the good of the nation.

mars attacks isn't that great. and contact is kinda neat, but way too long and inevitably terrible. i almost want to ruin the end for you now so you don't have to suffer through it and then groan at the end like the rest of us poor fools did.

you'll probably be getting more comments on other posts throughout the day. i'm way behind on this, i know.
